Supreme Court of India passes judgment. The judgment says no action shall be taken against the companies which could not pay their employers, the complete salary until the end of July.
Also, the supreme court has asked the state governments to settle any disputes between employers and employees. This is related to any salary payments due by the employer. Along with that, the Supreme court has given 4 weeks to file a reply on the legality of March 29 notification. According to the notification the SC has ordered mandatory payment of complete wages during the lockdown.
The judgment said that in these tough times, the industries and laborers need each other’s support. They should also resolve any disputes in regard to wages.
In March, the Union Home Ministry has asked all the industries irrespective of the sector to pay the full wages to their employees within the due date. There should be no deduction during the lockdown period.
