On Thursday, Godrej Consumer Products Limited has announced a partnership with the food delivery app Zomato, car rental company Zoomcar, and B2B supply chain startup ShopKirana. This partnership is to deliver the consumer products necessary to the customers directly to their doorsteps.
ShopKirana will deliver these Godrej goods to the individual retailers, while Zomato will directly deliver them to the customer doorsteps. Zoomcar will also help deliver the necessary products under personal care, home care, hair care, and household insecticides to the distributors.
Recently, ITC Foods, Marico, and Britannia have formed a partnership with several other companies to deliver the products directly to the doorsteps of the customer.
GCPL CEO, India, Mr. Sunil Kataria said that they have formed three different partnerships to contribute to helping the society recover from this bad phase and empower them. The company said they want people to stay indoors and order the products from a wide range of products available at Godrej.
This new collaboration will be listed under Zomato Market in the Zomato app. ShopKirana, an Indore based B2B startup has received a license from Madhya Pradesh government to deliver online orders and essential goods to the customers/retailers. ShopKirana has released a new app named ‘Zaroori ‘which currently has Godrej No.1 soap as the only soap listing. Retailers can place an order from the Zaroori app and get delivered to them by ShopKirana. Currently, this service is available in Indore and it is on cards to extend to other cities like Bhopal and Jabalpur.
GCPL claims that ZoomCar will empower the distributors and retailers through deliveries made from cars provided by them. The main aim is to reduce the load on the traditional transport system and use ZoomCars instead. As of now, this service is active in Mumbai and Nagpur. There are some plans to extend this initiative to Pune and other states like Madhya Pradesh and Gujarat.
